Why do you want to serve on the Nominating Committee?

My passion is serving the needs of my colleagues in cancer care and supporting them in their noble work caring for patients. Throughout my career, I have found fulfillment in listening and responding to the needs of providers. By doing so, I am able to impact patients exponentially. Initially, my focus was on professional development of trainees through fellowship education. This grew into advocating on behalf of faculty at the larger medical center level. I am a practicing clinician, educator and researcher, as well as an administrator whose job is to listen constantly to the needs of multidisciplinary physicians involved in cancer care. Working with ASCO in developing fellowship milestones, I was able to help shape the trajectory of oncology education. Now my work with ASCO through advocacy is helping to shape legislation around critical issues such as telemedicine and equitable access to clinical trials. I believe that serving on the Nominating Committee will allow me to amplify the voices of leaders focused on issues of genuine concern to members by identifying candidates who will develop practical, actionable solutions through advocacy and shaping policy.
