Does ASCO require employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19?

ASCO is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace. ASCO is guided by current federal, state, and local government COVID safety recommendations and guidelines applicable to Headquarters located in Alexandria, VA. Employees and visitors are required to follow any COVID-19 safety procedures that ASCO puts in place. Mask-wearing at Headquarters is each individual’s personal choice.

What happens when I submit my application?

When you submit your application using our electronic submission process, you will receive a “Thank You” prompt confirming receipt. This means that an ASCO Recruiter has access to your information as part of our database. Your résumé will be compared to the criteria for the position you have selected.

How do I check on the status of my application/résumé?

You can track the status of your submitted applications using our online database and login information. You can also manage your submissions by viewing or withdrawing your submitted application. Once the position has been filled, you will notice the position is no longer listed in your profile.

Can I apply for more than one position?

Yes. When you are logged in, click on "Search Jobs" and then click on the additional position that you would like to apply for. You will have the option to use your most recent application or upload a new résumé or CV. There is no limit on how many positions you can apply for.

What happens if I am not selected as a candidate?

If there is no current position that is a good fit for your skills, your résumé will be retained in our database and matched against other open positions. Due to the high volume of résumés we receive, we are not able to contact all applicants personally. However, you will receive an automated email from our applicant tracking system.

How will I know if I am selected as a candidate?

If you are evaluated as qualified and selected as a candidate, one of our Recruiters will contact you within a few weeks with information on next steps.

What are the next steps after being selected as a candidate?

If selected as a candidate, you will be contacted by a Recruiter for a phone screening. If the screening call is successful, you will complete an interview with the Hiring Manager. Upon successful completion of an interview with the Hiring Manager, you will be invited for a panel interview with additional staff members. Depending on the position, you might need to complete an assessment.

How should I prepare to interview at ASCO?

In order to be prepared, we suggest that you research our organization in advance and be prepared to answer questions related to your experience, education, skills, certifications, and training. In addition, practice answering behavioral and situational interview questions by referring to the required qualifications and competencies listed in the job advertisement. For onsite interviews, bring a list of questions you would like to ask about the position and the organization, along with copies of your résumé. And finally, relax and be confident!

How long will ASCO keep my résumé on file?

We keep your résumé in our database for two years.
