The Association for Clinical Oncology (ASCO) offers multiple ways for you and your colleagues to engage with policymakers and educate them on ASCO’s advocacy priorities, while leveraging your insights to improve cancer care in their district or state.
ASCO's ACT Network
The ACT Network allows you to easily send pre-drafted messages directly to your lawmakers on legislative issues important to oncology.
ASCO Association PAC
The nonpartisan ASCO Association Political Action Committee (PAC) provides ASCO members with opportunities to engage with lawmakers on the challenges in the U.S. cancer care delivery system and cancer research enterprise. All U.S. members can sign in using their ASCO account information to learn more.
Advocacy at Home
Attending in-district meetings with your lawmakers, or hosting them for a site visit, are impactful ways to advocate for cancer care locally. ASCO will assist in organizing meeting logistics and provide talking points to help you prepare for a visit with your lawmaker or their staff. Fill out this survey to participate.
Annual Advocacy Summit
ASCO brings together U.S. members annually for a two-day Advocacy Summit to meet with lawmakers in Washington, D.C. to discuss high-priority legislative issues impacting oncology care and cancer patients. The Summit includes networking opportunities and advocacy training sessions to help you frame your legislative asks using personal stories from your experience as an oncology professional. Advocacy Champions
Every year ASCO recognizes our most engaged volunteers as ASCO’s Advocacy Champions. The most engaged volunteer is designated as the Advocate of the Year and is honored at the annual Advocacy Summit in Washington, D.C. and recognized by ASCO in member communications. Additionally, FASCO points are awarded for achieving Advocacy Champion status.
