Recommendations for a Global Curriculum in Medical Oncology

The Recommendations for a Global Curriculum in Medical Oncology are a set of common guidelines developed by ASCO and the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) with the goal of defining standards in guiding the training of medical oncologists worldwide and to ensure that all patients have an equal chance of receiving treatment from well-trained physicians. The Global Curriculum has been endorsed by 51 national oncology societies.

Log Book

The purpose of the Log Book is to keep a record of oncology trainees’ educational programs and their progress. Supervisors can use this record as a tool to assess trainees’ performance.

Past Editions of the Global Curriculum

2010: Chapters included in the curriculum’s 2010 edition were shaped by new advances in managing patients with malignant diseases.

2004: The curriculum’s first edition was published in 2004 and was published in 11 languages.
