Equitable Care of Metastatic Breast Cancer Patients

Conquer Cancer®, the ASCO Foundation, in collaboration with Pfizer Global Medical Grants, has announced the recipients of grants totaling $900,000 to support studies focused on identifying disparities in delivery of care and treatment outcomes for patients of color with metastatic breast cancer (mBC) across the United States.  These grants are part of the Pfizer Global Medical Grants’ program “Equitable Care of Metastatic Breast Cancer (mBC) Patients: A Phased Approach to Understanding and Addressing Healthcare Disparities for People of Color”, which aims to promote and advance scientific knowledge concerning equitable care of patients with mBC by employing data-driven frameworks to define and address inequities in the delivery of patient care and outcomes.

In December 2022, Conquer Cancer and Pfizer brought these six investigators together for an Investigator Exchange meeting where they shared the findings and lessons learned from their analyses of inequities within their health-care systems, and engaged in a productive discussion about solutions needed to achieve equity and improve outcomes for underserved mBC patients.
