Advance Health Equity in Cancer Care with ASCO's Summer 2024 Quality Training Program

Join the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s (ASCO) Quality Training Program (QTP) this summer to lead transformative changes in cancer care delivery, with a special emphasis on equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). This thematic session will serve as the kick-off to a longer-term commitment aiming to empower oncology care teams with the necessary tools and strategies for implementing quality improvement projects that advance EDI goals within healthcare practices.

Apply today for a more in-depth look into how EDI is impacting quality of care at your practice site!

Quality Training Program Six-Month Course Structure: Tailored for EDI

The Summer 2024 QTP session retains the core structure of our renowned program, including in-person learning sessions, hands-on projects relevant to your practice, and personalized coaching. What sets this session apart are several key features designed to enhance its focus on EDI as well as participation in a longer-term learning collaborative:

  • Tuition Waiver: To support oncology practices’ efforts to improve EDI, ASCO is waiving tuition fees for accepted teams. We hope that waiving tuition will make this program more accessible to a wide range of practice sites, furthering ASCO’s commitment to EDI in oncology.  Note: Participants will need to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses.

  • EDI Project Focus: To participate, each team’s quality improvement project must aim to promote EDI within their healthcare setting. This thematic approach ensures that our collective efforts will contribute to meaningful advancements in the equity of cancer care delivery.

  • Requirement to Use EQuIP Tool: Teams will utilize ASCO’s newly developed Equity Quality Improvement Practice (EQuIP) Evaluation Site Assessment Tool for their health equity-focused projects. This requirement ensures alignment with ASCO’s objectives for improving health equity and provides a structured approach to assessing and enhancing care delivery.

  • Participation in a Learning Collaborative: Following completion of the six-month QTP course, teams will continue to share experiences, challenges, and best practices within a two-year learning collaborative. ASCO will host quarterly storyboard sessions, an online community, and other opportunities for learning.
